AMRC proudly offers abatement services in the greater Sarasota area.

What is asbestos? Asbestos is a group of naturally occurring minerals that can break into tiny fibers that are invisible to the naked eye. Asbestos is extremely resistant to fire and heat and has been used in products for more than two thousand years. In the construction industry, asbestos was used in more than 3,000 building products.

Asbestos fibers can be released when disturbed and can be potentially harmful if inhaled, an asbestos soil removal is a must in this case. Exposure to asbestos can cause disabling or fatal diseases such as asbestosis, lung cancer, mesothelioma and other cancers, whose symptoms may not appear for more than 20 years. By reducing a person’s exposure to asbestos, the chances of becoming ill are reduced.

It is a common misconception that all products that contain asbestos are banned for use in the United States, and many people are surprised that you can still find asbestos in products manufactured today.

Asbestos Exposure

Most worker exposures occur during the removal of asbestos and the renovation and maintenance of buildings and structures that contain asbestos. For families living in older homes that still have asbestos, exposure can occur during renovations and proximity to poorly maintained asbestos containing products.

The AMRC work force is fully trained and certified and has been performing asbestos consulting, testing, and training since 1994. By adding asbestos abatement services, we provide our clients turnkey service, from testing through removal and disposal.
